What we can tell you is that Nova Write’s Laser-LithoTM is a new printing process that will not use printing plates. That’s right! No more printing plates as a consumable! The technology involves an imaging engine that will image on the press, which, using fountain solution and standard offset litho inks, will print images. The image can then be cleaned away and replaced with a new image. This solution enables the reliability, the stability, extreme high quality and, most of all, the printing speeds of offset litho on commercial presses.

      With our technology, pre-press time can be reduced and re-work costs eliminated. Dispensing with printing plates allows offset litho technology to compete with small-volume, quick-changeover production runs. Since there are no plate costs, the notion of a “run length” is a thing of the past. A single press equipped with the Laser-LithoTM print engine can run short (1-5000 pages), long (5000 pages+) and ultra-long runs (million+) and change over to the next job without any costs associated with plates or chemistry to process the plates!

      Needless to say, our technology eliminates external plate setters and any associated chemistry. It has nothing in common with electro-photography or ink-jet processes, and offers a “green-technology” solution for the commercial offset litho industry.
